First launch on macOS

The launcher is not yet notarized by Apple. On first launch, macOS shows an alert saying Apple cannot verify that it is free of malware. This is expected: you allow it once.

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file and drag Togu into the Applications folder.
  2. Double-click Togu in Applications, then click Done in the alert (not “Move to Trash”).
  3. Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security. At the bottom of the page, click “Open Anyway” and confirm with your Mac password.
  4. In the new alert, click Open. Later launches only need a double-click.

Only make this exception for a file downloaded from this page.

First launch on Windows

The installer is not signed with a certificate trusted by Microsoft. On first launch, Windows displays “Windows protected your PC”. This is expected: you allow it for this file.

  1. Run the downloaded Togu_…_x64-setup.exe file.
  2. In the “Windows protected your PC” window, select “More info”, then “Run anyway”.
  3. Installation is for your Windows account only and does not require administrator rights.
  4. Open Togu from the Start menu.

Smart App Control blocks the installer when enabled, with no per-app exception: do not disable it. For help, ask in the Togu Discord or email [email protected]. Smart App Control is separate from SmartScreen, whose alert offers “Run anyway”.

From the launcher to the game

  1. Download the Togu launcher from this page.
  2. Request a code in the Togu Discord and create a Togu account.
  3. Open the confirmation link sent by email, and check your spam folder too.
  4. Install the official client from the launcher.
  5. Play when the world is open.

The official source

  • The launcher downloads the official Dofus client from Ankama’s CDN and verifies downloaded blocks against the manifest’s SHA-1 hashes.
  • Launcher updates are verified with Togu’s signing key; unsigned versions are rejected.
  • On Windows, installation is for the current Windows account and does not require administrator rights.

Only download the launcher from this page. Togu will never ask for your Ankama password.
